All wedding events will be held outside of Portland in Oregon Wine Country.

Traveling to Portland, OR

By Plane

Portland International Airport (PDX) is located about 15 minutes east of downtown Portland. This is the most convenient airport if you will be flying in for this event.

By Train

Union Station is an option if you are thinking about traveling in from out of town by rail. There are many different Amtrak lines that run through Union Station as well as the MAX Light Rail.

By Car

The wedding venue is located southwest of Portland in the Dundee Hills of OR wine country. It is recommended that even if you are flying in, you consider renting a car to get out to the venue and hotels.

Geography Lesson

The wedding venue in Dayton, OR is about a 1-hour drive southwest of downtown Portland and is about a 1-hour 20 minute drive from the Portland International Airport (PDX).

We suggest looking for lodging in a few of the nearby towns; McMinnville or Newberg. The venue is basically between these two towns. McMinnville is about 15 minutes further west from the venue and Newberg is about 20 minutes away from the venue in the opposite direction from McMinnville.

McMinnville will be home base for any pre- and post-wedding activities. So, if you would like to stay in a place that is walking distance to those events, check out the options listed for McMinnville.

For those looking for a bougie Oregon weekend:

Atticus Hotel - McMinnville, OR

The Atticus is a smaller boutique hotel that will be the main lodging hub for the weekend. We have a room block that is holding rooms aside for you to book. This hotel is located in downtown McMinnville. It will be walking distance from any pre- and post-wedding events. The venue is about a 15-min drive from here. There is a great on-site restaurant called Cypress.

3rd Street Flats - McMinnville, OR

3rd Street Flats is the sister property to The Atticus Hotel. The two properties are right next door to one another. There are a limited number of flats available, but if you are looking for more of an apartment-style-living vibe in downtown McMinnville, this could be a great option. There are flats that accommodate groups of up to 2, 4, and 6 people.

The Allison Inn & Spa - Newberg, OR

In the mood for a spa weekend? Then The Allison Inn is your spot. This property is in Newberg, OR, which is 20 minutes east of the venue. There isn’t a whole lot to do in Newberg, but the Allison offers some swanky rooms, a great on-site restaurant, and of course a nice spa. This one is definitely a pricier option, but we wanted to include for anyone who is interested.

For those looking for a quirky Oregon weekend:

Hotel Oregon - McMinnville, OR

Hotel Oregon is part of McMenamin’s, which is a unique restaurant and lodging group in the Pacific Northwest. They operate this hotel in the heart of downtown McMinnville. Before booking here, you should know that McMinnville makes waves in the UFO community. There was a notable sighting here in the 1950’s, and the town has embraced it. The Vintages Trailer Resort - Dayton, OR

Ever wanted to stay in a vintage mid-century Airstream, but didn’t feel like towing it across the country? Check out The Vintages Trailer Resort. This option is an incredibly short drive to the wedding venue, and would be about 15 minutes from downtown McMinnville for any other wedding events. Airstream ‘glamping’ could be a pretty cool way to spend a weekend out in Oregon Wine Country.

For those who prefer to be ‘Lord of the Manor’:

Airbnb | VRBO

There are definitely some options for booking short-term rentals in the Willamette Valley; lots of wine tourism in this area. Tough to say exactly how far these would be from the venue or from McMinnville. But these could be good options for larger parties or if folks are grouping up to save on lodging costs.

Lifestyle Properties

This company manages a number of houses connected to the local wineries. They offer properties on a short-term rental basis. The only caveat here is that they manage properties all over Oregon. So be sure to look at the location and how far it might be from wedding festivities.

The Ground is a growing collection of properties and experiences in Yamhill County. This includes a pastoral farm and restaurant concept called Humble Spirit located in McMinnville. The Ground also has 3 lodging options: A luxurious Inn, a craftsman B&B, and a Farmhouse rental, all ~20 min away.

For those who play the points game:

Unfortunately, there are no major chain hotels nearby. So, if you're looking for a certain brand of hotel, you will likely need to look at Portland-area hotels and drive out toward the venue, which is 45+ minutes away.

What’s there to do near Dayton, OR?

There is lots of wine tourism in this region, so you’ll find plenty of tasting rooms in addition to great restaurants. If you venture out of town a bit, you’ll come across the Aviation & Space Museum, which apparently has a waterpark too.
