How they met
Kelsey grew up in Portland, OR and Chris is from Newtown, CT.
So, how did these two find each other in NYC? Read on…
November 24, 2017
Kelsey had just been relocated from Portland to join the Nike New York office in September, where Chris was working. The two met on Kelsey’s first day in the office near the lobby you see pictured above.
A few months later, being the nice guy that he is, Chris invited Kelsey to a group run he was hosting in NYC the day after Thanksgiving. Guess what? Kelsey showed up.
Fast forward a little over a year…

The day after Chris’ last day at Nike, Kelsey came up to CT to go trail running, which kickstarted their first 'official' date. And in case you're wondering, yes, Chris has other running jackets. He just happened to be wearing the same one on two separate occasions years apart. Clearly, he thought that Kelsey must have liked it.
Plot twist. Chris moved to New Hampshire.

They did the distance thing, seeing each other whenever possible throughout the year. Don’t worry though, Chris came to his senses and moved back to CT at the end of summer 2019.
Plot twist again. Global pandemic sets in early 2020.
April 10, 2020
With Kelsey stuck in her NYC apartment and Chris a few hours away in CT, the two discussed it, and Kelsey ended up going to CT to ‘wait out’ the pandemic. 14 days quickly turned into 9 months. Kelsey spent the entire summer in CT with Chris’ family, while Chris worked on the lake. (Okay, Kelsey worked at the lake a bit too). It was during this time they became official Boyfriend & Girlfriend!

Following the summer, the two of them then spent time out in Portland with Kelsey’s family through the Fall and Winter of 2020. During this visit to Portland, Kelsey took Chris to her favorite hiking spot along the Oregon Coast (this will be revisited later).

While Kelsey was prepping to be relocated back to Portland at the end of the month, in this one wild week, Chris ran the Boston Marathon on Monday, then interviewed for and accepted a job at lululemon in Portland, OR with a start date of November 1st. Oh, and they celebrated Kelsey's birthday that week too with a rooftop party! Fate was somehow bringing them both to Portland at the same time.
Moving Day.
December 5, 2021
Kelsey and Chris officially made the move to Oregon in late 2021. The couple loves their sanctuary in the sky with views of Mount Hood and the Willamette River right out their back window.
November 8, 2022
The two took a trip to Norway to see where Kelsey's family came from. Some other places they love that they have visited together include: Montana, Hawaii, Austria, and Japan.
She said, “Yes!”
January 21, 2023
Chris and Kelsey went back out to Kelsey's favorite hike on the Oregon coast. At the lookout point with the Pacific ocean all around and a little bit of sunshine, Chris got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and popped the question. Thankfully, neither one of them fell off the cliff they were standing on.
