Frequently Asked Questions
What is the dress code for the wedding Ceremony & Reception?
We have gotten this question a lot. Here’s how we would describe it: A summer wedding where Cocktail to Formal attire is appropriate. Here is a helpful article from BRIDES magazine explaining different wedding dress codes.
Things to think about when planning your outfit: The ceremony will be outside on grass and portions of the event will be indoors on hard surfaces. We are hoping for a beautiful Oregon summer day, which can be quite warm when in direct sunlight. We’ve heard that the venue has a tendency to be a bit breezy at this time of year, and the reception will last from daytime to nighttime.
We hope this information helps. If you still have questions, please reach out to Kelsey or Chris.
What about attire for the other events throughout the weekend?
Attire for the Welcome Party on Friday evening is everyday dressy casual. For Sunday at Stoller this will be a very relaxed environment, please come as you are (aka everyday casual).
Can we bring our kids to the wedding events?
Let’s start by saying, we adore all of your kids. There is absolutely no question about that. However, as we embarked on planning this wedding, certain realities became clear, and unfortunately, we are unable to invite children to the Ceremony and Reception. This means, the names you see on your invitation are the guests we are planing to host on Saturday.
This does not mean you cannot travel with your children though. If you will have your kids with you, they are welcome to join us for the Friday evening Welcome Party and/or Sunday at Stoller event. We just ask that you plan into child care during the Saturday wedding festivities. We’ve heard there are local vacation babysitters available with services like: care.com.
I can’t make it, will the ceremony by live-streamed?
We are sorry to hear that you won’t be able to join us in Oregon this August. Unfortunately, we will not be live streaming the ceremony, nor will we be broadcasting any of the other wedding events throughout the weekend. We will have a videographer on site to capture the day and there will be a recap video we can share afterward.
Is there a discounted room rate for booking in the room block at the Atticus Hotel?
With our wedding taking place out in Oregon Wine Country, we are limited in the hotel options and most of the options in McMinnville, OR are boutique-style hotels. These locations do not offer discounted room rates for the room blocks, but we do have a set of rooms held aside since there is limited availability. If you are interested in booking at the Atticus Hotel, where we have a room block, please click HERE.
You can also find plenty of other suggestions of where to stay nearby across different price ranges on our Travel & Stay page.
Will transportation be provided?
The wedding venue is about an hour southwest of Portland, so if you are flying in, we recommend exploring rental car options, since this would be a long Uber/Lyft ride. Additionally, we will not be providing any shuttle or bus services from McMinnville or Newberg to or from the wedding venue. Reminder: The venue is ~20 minutes from Newberg and ~15 minutes from McMinnville.
Please plan into your own transportation to and from the wedding events at the Stoller Family Estate. Uber and Lyft are available out in this region, but there are not as many available compared to downtown Portland. Wait times could be lengthy, if there are lots of people requesting.
Will there be a country line dance during the reception?
If you know Kelsey or follow her on social media, you will know that she loves country line dancing, and frequents the local honky-tonk in Portland. So you best believe there will be at least one country line dance during the reception. We will be playing this song and we would love for as many of you as possible to be out there dancing, please check either of these videos to learn the moves.
Less of a question and more of a statement: Stoller is a smoke-free venue, meaning no smoking of any kind is allowed on the property. Please respect this request and refrain from smoking and/or vaping while on the grounds.
Stoller is a certified B-Corp, and in order to maintain their status as a sustainable farm, there cannot be any smoking products on the property. This includes cigars, cigarettes, and vape pens as they can pose risk to the vines. Please do not bring any of these items with you to events taking place at the Stoller Family Estate. Thank you!
